"Blind"

When an individual disagrees with the way another person or group of people lead their lives it can be a natural reaction to dehumanize them by ignoring their individuality and personal identity. It is easy to wag a disapproving finger at a group we see as “wrong.” Eventually we stop seeing people at all. We only see statistics, argument, litigation, policy and debate; there are no people left to see. For us to grow past this developed blindness we need to see everyone as individual people once again. This is not easy, there often needs to be a catalyst to aid the process. When this is available and the individual makes the active choice to see the entire world again for what it really is, they find themselves face to face with regular, ordinary people. All of which have the same needs, wants, and desires and perform the same tasks that we do every day.
